Selectamark was today certified to ISO 9001:2000 by the Loss Prevention Certification Board. This means that Selectamark is authorised to use the LPCB mark on stationery and pulblications related to the “Supply of property marking systems, including chemical etching and electronic idenfication”.
ISO9001:2000 supersedes the previous ISO9001:1994 standard which Selectamark held. In fact, the standard has developed since its previous version and now places greater emphasis on customer satisfaction and continual improvement.
A recent British Security Industry (“BSI”) press release estimated that as of December 2002 only 16% of organizations had upgraded their certificates to ISO9001:2000. “This only goes to prove how difficult it is to achieve the Standard and the amazing effort we have put in to ensure that Selectamark maintains its competitive advantage of being customer focused and continues to deliver quality products” said Jim Brown, Chairman of Selectamark.
About ISO9001:2000
The ISO 9000 family of standards represents an international consensus on good management practices with the aim of ensuring that the organization can time and time again deliver the product or services that meet the client’s quality requirements. These good practices have been distilled into a set of standardized requirements for a quality management system, regardless of what your organization does, its size, or whether it’s in the private, or public sector.
